1. Sadio Mané Injury Update: Al Nassr Recruitment
On the eve of his international debut, Sadio Mane has been ruled out for at least six weeks due to an ankle injury.
Mane was named in Egypt's squad for their friendly match against Iran on Tuesday night and is expected to play in the final group stage match on Wednesday morning.
The 22-year-old forward had already played in three friendlies before he suffered the setback.
Al Nassr, who have been struggling with injuries themselves this season, have made it clear that they will not hesitate to sign Mane if he proves himself worthy.
"Even though we've struggled with injuries ourselves this season, we're not giving up,Saudi Pro League Highlights" said manager Hicham El Ahmoud. "If Mane comes back strong, we'll be happy to sign him."
In addition to Mane's absence, Al Nassr have also announced the signing of Belgian midfielder Benjamin Mendy from Real Madrid.
Mendy has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain but has now joined Al Nassr on loan until the end of the season.
The move could help alleviate some of Al Nassr's problems as they look to secure a Champions League place next season.
Overall, the news is a blow for Al Nassr but highlights the ongoing struggles of the club in terms of injuries. It remains to be seen how Mane's return will affect their chances of qualifying for Europe's top flight next season.
